Howlite Bundle
Howlite Bundle
Howlite is a borate mineral, originally discovered in Canada in 1868 by Henry How, a Canadian chemist, mineralogist and geologist. A group of miners brought it to his attention when they came across it while mining, finding it to be a nuisance because it was harder to mine than gypsum. Henry decided to sell the material and named it after himself - howlite. The product became popular as an ornamental stone and was first mass produced in 1922.
Blue apatite is a rare type of phosphate mineral that occurs as small, colorless crystals. It is commonly found in Brazil, Madagascar, Mexico and Burma, with the largest deposit being in Russia in the town of Kirovsk in the northwest.
